How to Recognize Candida Albicans Symptoms

Oh My God, Bugs are Everywhere!

If you have ever been told that you may be experiencing Candida Albicans symptoms, you will be familiar with the idea that our bodies are home to vast colonies of bacteria. But back when the modern miracle of microscopes invaded medical practices, some startling discoveries were made. To the horror of many, the intestines of seemingly healthy humans were found to be alive with bacteria. This alarming discovery led to some equally alarming practices, such as removal of large sections of the intestines.

This practice was not widespread, being mainly confined to upper class women who were perhaps obsessed with the notion of cleanliness and could afford the services of specialists. Meanwhile the masses of the population went on living without the knowledge or concern that they might be living with substantial infestations of bacteria.

Of course we know today, that bacteria are present everywhere and play an important role in both good health and ill health. The balance of types of bacteria is the critical issue. Candida Albicans is a yeast based bacteria that that occurs naturally in the digestive tract, kept in balance by other bacteria. However, when the natural balance is disturbed, then distressing and uncomfortable symptoms of Candida overgrowth can show in various parts of the body. You may be lucky to experience only a short bout of diarrhea while natural re-balancing occurs. However, continued imbalance results in the rapid growth of a yeast like fungus, leading to more pronounced symptoms. This may be diagnosed as “Thrush” in the mouth, “Vaginitis” in the genital area, and “Candidiasis” in the digestive tract. All of these are the result of a significant yeast infestation.

Candidiasis, or Candida Albicans overgrowth can be fairly easily treated with anti-fungal drugs, but the mildness of some of the symptoms of Candida Albicans, such as bloating, constipation and gas can often lead to the underlying conditions being untreated, resulting in a more severe affect on the digestive system. There can be a significant reduction in the systems ability to extract nutrients from food, leading to a loss of energy, headaches and general fatigue. Even more seriously, the fungal infection actually grows through the walls of the digestive tract and begins to leak toxins and other foreign substances into the body. Known as “leaky gut syndrome”, this condition is associated with a wide range of more severe symptoms, such as rectal or bladder inflammation, muscle and joint pain, dizziness, respiratory problems, psoriasis, eczema, and acne.

Eventually the body’s immune system begins to turn on itself. In addition, there is a high risk of the yeast toxins entering the blood stream s a result of an injury or operation, causing damage to kidneys, liver, spleen, joints and eyes. These effects do not always respond to the usual antibiotic treatments due to the underlying fungal invasion. This is referred to as “Candidemia” or “Invasive Candidiasis”.
