Candida Albicans Thrush – Are You Sick?

A common problem is Candida albicans thrush. This fungus is generally found in the mucus membranes and within the G.I. tract. It is generally considered a natural part of your body’s flora and is often found on or in the genitals, anus, and mouth. It will also occasionally move through the blood to other areas of the body. Thrush needs moist conditions to thrive on the skin and is relatively healthy to have in moderate amounts.

When something changes in your body chemistry, such as major fluctuations in hormones or a round of antibiotics are taken, Candida albicans can grow at an uncontrolled rate. This is what causes the infection and the many problems of thrush. Thrush can be visible as white clumps, itching, and discomfort throughout the area.

A yeast infection often happens when yeast multiplies to the point that the body can no longer fight it off on it’s own. The yeast then begins to colonize other areas of the body causing infection once it has overwhelmed a particular region. Several factors can be examined when learning the causes in Candida overgrowth.

The most common cause of a yeast infection is the overuse of antibiotics. Antibiotics kill the friendly, yeast regulating bacteria in your system. Unfortunately, it doesn’t kill the yeast, which then allows the thrush to flourish within the body. The most common forms of thrush are in the mouth and in the vagina. These areas are moist and warm and are the perfect conditions for growth to occur.

Candida Albicans is called thrush only when it occurs in the mouth. It is most often found in the mouths of infants. Once the mouth is infected it can spread to the esophagus and digestive tract. Rarely, it can infect other bodily systems. When it spreads, it is usually due to a compromised immune system due to other health conditions which inhibit the immune system.

Monilia often appears as a white film with red or bleeding patches on the gums, tongue, and other soft tissues of the mouth. Cultures and blood tests are normally used to identify the type of Monilia. Doctors will often know it by sight and the cultures taken are usually to confirm diagnosis and treatment of it. If the cultures say that it is Candida Albicans the doctor will generally prescribe antifungals such as Nystatin or Capricin.

Treatment for this type of thrush requires over the counter medication. Severe cases might require the prescription of a stronger ointment or mouth wash. Thrush due to antibiotics or changes in the body will most often clear up when the medication or change is corrected. However, it is important to know that sugar is the primary food source for Candida yeast and if one is serious about treatment, then avoiding sugar and yeast in the diet is strongly recommended. Also, once the Candida yeast colonies have been killed, it is of utmost importance to repopulate the gut with friendly bacteria so that the yeast colonies that haven’t been killed can be regulated once again.

Thrush is not a complex problem and is often just due to slight changes in diet and lifestyle. Normally it will go away with time and some medication. If it is a reoccurring problem, it is something to be taken more seriously and the anti Candida diet is recommended along with the ebook Yeast Infection No More. This will ensure that Candidiasis will no longer come back since it is a thorough Candida cleansing program that truly works to make sure all of the problematic Candida overgrowth within the gut is destroyed and that the body is replenished with the friendly bacteria to maintain perpetual balance.
