Candida Albicans –Hostile, Baleful, And Threatening Yeast!

Candida albicans – what’s that?  Well, if you have suffered from yeast infections for any length of time, you may be a better acquainted with that term than would care to be.  But how can an otherwise harmless yeast normally found in small amounts in various warm and moist parts of the body erupt into such a havoc-wreaking enemy?  Let’s take a look.

Candida albicans, a fungus,  are able to grow and multiply quickly and easily, which is why yeast infections can seem to come out of nowhere.  Having unprotected sex with an infected partner can lead to yeast infection in just a matter of hours unless the area is immediately washed with an anti-fungal remedy.

The yeast is also dangerous in other ways.  It goes way beyond just the annoying burning, itching, and swelling.  Maybe you weren’t aware that women who suffer from Candida have a greater chance of cervical cancer than those who don’t suffer from yeast infections.

So, with all that being the case, how can you avoid this dangerous yeast?  Well, you should avoid sharing towels, toothbrushes, clothes, underwear, and soap with anyone who has a current yeast infection.  If their case is severe, avoid the same tub or shower.

If you are suffering yourself from a current yeast infection, here are a few things you can do:

•    Wear clothing made of 100% natural cotton.  This fabric is more breathable and allows oxygen in.  Oxygen kills yeast.
•    Wear clothing and underwear that is loose.
•    Wash your clothes separately, and in boiling water if you plan on wearing them again during the course of your infection.  Adding grapefruit seed extract to the wash will help in killing off the yeast.

Here are some symptoms to be on the lookout for:  Burning, itching, swelling, redness, odor, or discharge.  If you notice any of these, get going on an action plan straight away because you probably have a yeast infection on your hands.

Here are some other things you can do right off the bat if you are dealing with a yeast infection:

Coat a tampon with plain, sugar-free yogurt and insert vaginally.  The healthy bacteria contained in yogurt will relieve your symptoms and also immediately get to work on killing the yeast.

Start taking anti-fungals.  Garlic is a good first choice.  You can squeeze the oils from the clove on the affected areas, although, I must warn you, it may burn.  Or, if that doesn’t appeal to you, you can insert a whole cleaned clove within the vagina itself and let it sit there overnight.  This has been proven to be very effective.

Get some probiotic supplements and start taking them immediately.  Commonly referred to as Acidophilus, these beneficial bacterium obliterate yeast almost at the point of contact.

While these methods are very effective at relieving your symptoms, they won’t get to the root cause of your problem.  But with the right treatments and precautions you can learn to get rid of Candida albicans for good.  There is one treatment method that has helped thousands target and eradicate the underlying causes of both Candida and chronic yeast infections.
